I never thought I'd be this old but here I finally am. You'd think I would have learned by now to keep God's sacred laws, But I find at 39 I've still got a lot of flaws! Chorus: But let me go, I'm sure I'm doin' fine. It ain't time for me to walk no holy line. There'll be time when I'm old and grey, I say, That God-stuff I'll get to some rainy day. I'm 45 & holding and I've seen a lot of pain. But I'm finally wise enough to tell my body from my brain. Ain't no man can sweet-talk me to break God's sacred laws. Cause I'm 45 & holding and I'm almost free of flaws! 2nd chorus: But let me go, I'm busy doin' fine. I know that I should walk that holy line. But there'll be time when I'm old and grey, I say, I know I'll find the time for God some day. I'm 62 & holding, at that senior discount age, But the government just pays me a barely livin' wage. I wish someone had taught me young 'bout God's sacred laws, Cause I'm reapin' what I sowed back then, I'm payin' for my flaws! 3rd chorus: But let me go, I'm busy bein' fine. Inspiration

45 & Holding is a song aabout always putting God off. I envisioned it as an evangelistic Country video with 4 different-aged country singers singing the age-appropriate verses, with skits reminding the viewers of the various not so wonderful things that can happen unexpectedly at any time just because we are human and the future an unknown. Walt's productions are just superb. I was never as wild as the song implies, but thought it appropriate for that age and figured our young adults would likely relate to it well as written.

I want to thank both Robb Tripp and Walt Harrah for the wonderful job they both did to make this album a reality. I am grateful to you both; you are both gifted producers. And a special thank you to all the great musicians and arrangers who were a part of this project.

The original production under Robb Tripp in TN was titled: Country Christian and produced in the Nashville area with a live band of superb musicians. I could tell them what I was hearing for each song and they not only gave me what I asked, but way beyond as well.

Three songs were produced in CA with Walt Harrah. Besides being a producer, he is also a talented singer. I was delighted when he agreed to be the singer on both Fire Insurance (about accepting Jesus), and The Wolves Are Out (about the importance of judging by fruits). He was also my duet partner in 45 & Holding (about always putting God off). He's also particularly gifted at harmony. He could lay down 4 harmony tracks in succession without even one sour or missed note.
